Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

I provide telehealth sessions using Zoom, so anywhere you like in Pennsylvania or Florida! Use your computer, tablet, or phone – as long as it has a good audio and video connection.

I will be in my home office, and you will be wherever you choose. I recommend somewhere quiet, safe, and comfortable. Your office at work might be comfortable… or your sofa at home. If you have other people at home, your parked car can be a great spot.

What are your hours?

I have flexible hours on weekdays and early evenings.

I prefer to give you a day and time that will be the same every week, but I have enough flexibility to reschedule for another time or day if there is a conflict.

I also work hard to make myself available to you for extra or impromptu sessions if needed.

How long are sessions?

Typical therapy sessions are 50 minutes. There can be exceptions, and I’m flexible. Family sessions are often longer.

How much are sessions?

The cost of a 50-minute individual or couples session is $150.

Ninety-minute sessions are $200.

Do you accept insurance?

I am in-network with Aetna, Cigna, and Highmark in Pennsylvania. I will bill those companies directly, but you’ll be responsible for your copay/deductible/coinsurance.

If you have different insurance, I can provide you with billing documentation to seek possible reimbursement for out-of-pocket fees.

How do I set up an initial appointment?

Call (610) 933-2127, email contact@therapywithnate.com, or complete the contact form on this website.

I’ll respond as soon as possible, and we can find a time to meet.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please notify me at least 24 hours ahead of time if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

My missed-session/late-cancellation fee is the full cost of your session. Unfortunately, insurance cannot be billed for this fee.

Please understand that I do not want to charge you for missing a session. Paying to go to therapy is enough. Paying for it and not going is a waste of your valuable time and money.

Whom do you treat?

I work with teens and adults and people of all genders.

I work primarily with individuals and couples, but I sometimes work with families as a whole or in parts.

What’s it like being in session with you?

I give you my undivided attention. I listen and pry, urging you to explore what you bring up and points you might gloss over without realizing.

We will cover topics you bring to session, but you don’t have to prepare talking points if you don’t want to. Sometimes, the best sessions happen when you haven’t prepared a bit.

Is there anything I should do on my end for a good session?

Ideally, you will have a space where you will be undisturbed and uninterrupted for the duration of your session.

If at all possible, please avoid answering phone calls, texts, or emails during sessions.

Also, please be alone during your session (unless the other person present is part of the session).

Finally, absolutely no driving during session!

Do you assign homework?

I don’t usually assign written assignments to do between sessions.

But there are exceptions. Sometimes, a specific assignment can be a helpful tool for exploration. I might ask you to try a new approach to your thinking or behavior or to spend time reflecting before our next session.

If you want assignments or homework, we will discuss what would be helpful. I have many resources and assignments I can offer you. If we go that route, you’ll be the guide; I’ll be the passenger, encouraging you to keep going or pointing out things along the way.

What kind of training do you have?

I have received training in a variety of evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches. These include, but are not limited to, common approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), traditional psychoanalysis, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Psychodrama.

Is there anything else I should know about therapy?

We are working together as explorers. I’m a seasoned explorer, so I know WHAT to look out for.

This is your inner journey… and we’ll find what we find when we find it!

Whatever we find, I’ll be with you every step of the way.

Do you recommend other types of treatment?

I am an advocate for complete healing, and I strongly encourage mental, physical, and emotional care.

I have many resources I can share with you, including massage therapists, bodyworkers, yoga studios, nutritionists, dieticians, and more.

Why telehealth over a brick-and-mortar office?

People are more comfortable in their homes than in someone’s office, and you’re more likely to be open where you’re comfortable.

It’s also much more convenient and accessible!

Do you like dogs or cats?
Both!
Where do you live?

I live in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, in a house built by my great-great-great-great-grandfather.

Some say it is haunted, but I’ve never seen a ghost. I’ll keep looking, though!
